How to create a forest
About the event
John Everitt, Jamie Audsley, Leah McNally, and Chiara Lodi came together to present an ambitious vision for creating a new national forest in England, outlining how the Western Forest could transform regional landscapes.
They highlighted the wide-reaching benefits for communities, wildlife, and local businesses, while also sharing early research on how forest creation can be more inclusive and accessible. The discussion balanced big-picture environmental goals with practical insights into delivery and community impact.
Chaired by Darren Reynolds and opened by Savita Willmott as part of the Festival of Nature, the session brought energy and urgency to the region’s bold environmental mission.
