Description
This event is fully booked – register now to be added to the waiting list.
This online workshop will introduce you to the principles, functionality, and application of NVivo in the context of real-life qualitative research projects, illustrating how it can be used throughout the research process; from research design and literature review, through data analysis, visualisation and write-up.
Using a combination of demonstration, discussion, and hands-on practice, you will use both sample data and have the opportunity to work with your own data to learn how to get the best from it. This workshop is facilitated online by Dr Christina Silver or Dr Sarah Bulloch (University of Surrey and QDA Services) both experienced researchers and users of various computer-assisted qualitative data analysis software packages.
The workshop draws on the principles of two text books co-authored by Christina Silver: Using software in qualitative research: a step-by-step guide (Sage Publications, 2nd edition 2014) and Qualitative analysis using NVivo: the Five-Level QDA method (Routledge, 2017), both of which are available as e-books from the UWE library.
For more information about NVivo see the NVivo review available from the CAQDAS Networking Project and visit the NVivo website.
Please note that all the places on this workshop are strictly reserved for UWE PhD, Professional Doctorate, DPhil or MPhil students.
Before booking, please note the following:
- This course is limited to 14 places.
- Due to the high demand for and cost of providing this training, please only book if you're certain you can commit to attend all three sessions. If you book then miss any of the sessions without good reason, then in line with our cancellation policy your School will be charged for the place.
- By booking you are consenting for your UWE student email address to be shared with the external course facilitator for the purposes of distribution of course materials.
