Law Conversion Course
We will be delivering a Law Conversion Course from 2022 (subject to validation) for those students looking to transfer from a non-law degree to the Bar Training Course. Please email Jenny.Hallam@uwe.ac.uk for further information.
LLM Advanced Legal Practice
Our LLM in Advanced Legal Practice equips you with an LLM qualification and includes the Legal Practice Course (LPC) needed for professional practice as a Solicitor. Our LPC is the longest established in Bristol, with strong links with the legal community and training contract opportunities.
The course includes the interim award of the PG Diploma in Legal Practice (LPC), which is the programme of vocational training required by the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) for students wishing to qualify as solicitors.

LLM Commercial Law
Part of our comprehensive range of postgraduate LLM programmes, the LLM in Commercial Law offers you a specialist pathway for indepth study in law relating to business.
Designed to give you a broad, contextual and critical understanding of the area of commercial law, the course covers the operation of judicial, legislative and administrative action in relevant domestic, European and international contexts. You will be working at the leading edge of scholarship in this field, giving you an advantage when seeking employment either in legal practice or the commercial world.

LLM International Banking and Finance Law
Part of our comprehensive range of LLM programmes, the LLM in International Banking and Finance Law offers you a pathway to specialise in law relating to the global finance and banking sectors.
You will study integral parts of the international banking and financial system, and be encouraged to think critically about fundamental issues, such as the importance of effective financial regulation, the impact of the credit crunch, the necessity for corporate social responsibility and the increasing significance of ethical banking. The in-depth nature of the course will prepare you well for working in either legal practice or commercial organisations.

LLM International Law
Part of our comprehensive range of LLM programmes, the LLM in International Law offers you an opportunity to study the fundamentals of international law at an advanced level, linking theory to practice.
You will examine the key legal principles and rules underpinning the international legal system, and develop a contextual and critical understanding of key issues in contemporary international law. The depth and breadth of study will equip you well for working either in international law or international organisations.

LLM International Trade and Economic Law
Part of our comprehensive range of LLM programmes, the LLM in International Trade and Economic Law will equip you with the legal knowledge and capability to engage with trade and businesses at a global level.
The volume of international trade has increased substantially in the post-war period, and most rapidly in the last decade. You will study the institutions of international economic law that shape today's global economy, and the role and regulation of multinational corporations giving you the skills required to work in this significant and complex area of law.

Maximise your chances of securing pupillage by building your legal knowledge and skills side by side. You'll embed your understanding through regular application of your knowledge to scenarios you are likely to experience when advising clients or in court.
By undertaking and successfully completing the UWE Bristol Bar Training Course (BTC), you will develop, and be able to demonstrate, the competencies required to be called to the Bar, as set out by the Bar Standards Board (BSB).

- Part one of the training is delivered one day a week (on a Friday), from August to December, providing opportunities for you to work or undertake pro bono activities alongside your studies, or to study around your family commitments
- Part two is delivered over two days a week (Thursday and Friday), from February to June. Applicants are welcomed to join part two of our course, if they have studied and passed part one at another institution.

This framework is really flexible and allows you to use the credit for courses you have already completed towards a recognised qualification.
The PDA is a unique award - you set out the learning pathway, designing a bespoke academic qualification to suit your career and learning aspirations.
PGDip/PGCert Solicitors Training Course (SQE Prep)
Our Solicitors Training Course LLM enables anyone with or without a legal background to pursue a career as a solicitor. The holistic structure integrates qualifying work experience with LLM and SQE prep modules, preparing you for professional practice.
This course will prepare you to sit the Solicitors Qualifying Examinations (SQE) 1 and 2 by focusing on applied exam techniques. Passing these exams is one of your first steps towards qualifying as a practising solicitor in England and Wales.
