MSc Health Technology

MSc Health Technology caters to students from a broad range of disciplines, from healthcare and biomedical science to robotics and engineering. We are one of the first universities in the region to offer a degree of this kind.

This is a multi-disciplinary degree that bridges the gap between health and technology by blending both worlds. The course addresses an industry skills shortage for AI, cybersecurity and robotics in healthcare, providing the opportunity to enhance your employability, as well as your knowledge.

The degree offers flexibility to choose from a diverse range of research projects, tailored to your interests.

MSc Medical Ultrasound

This course provides an opportunity for health care practitioners to achieve a recognised qualification in obstetrics, gynaecological, vascular, general medical ultrasound, breast and musculosketetal, supported by a combination of structured clinical experience and academic study.

The course is designed to produce clinically competent advanced practitioners, who will be able to meet the needs of the service in a changing health care environment.

MSc Physician Associate Studies

This innovative, intensive course will equip you with the skills and knowledge you need to become a highly competent physician associate.

This MSc Physician Associate Studies course has been developed in line with professional standards underwritten by the Faculty of Physician Associates at the Royal College of Physicians. It will equip you with the broad range of clinical skills, knowledge and professional attitudes required to practice in the medical field.

You will develop critical thinking and clinical reasoning skills and learn how to take medical histories, perform physical examinations, request and analyse test results, diagnose illnesses and develop treatment and management plans.

MSc Advanced Practice

This course is studied and applied for on a modular basis. You take the core module/s then simply pick and choose from the wide selection of optional modules we have available.

This flexible course is designed to develop and enhance skills that are required to become an advanced practitioner. It is suitable for experienced health and social care practitioners who are currently functioning as advanced practitioners or who are developing towards this level of autonomous practice.

In developing this course, the Department has collaborated with members from a range of professions with varying roles in organisations including service managers, practitioners and educationalists.

Advanced Clinical Practitioners are experienced clinicians who independently manage the clinical care process from start to finish. Working across traditional health and social care boundaries, they combine expert clinical skills with research, education and leadership.

Course suitable for registered clinicians currently employed in health or social care settings and has been designed in partnership with employers. This will prepare you to join a multi-professional workforce for work at the top of your registration. By the end of the course, you’ll graduate with a Master's degree in Advanced Clinical Practice.
