UWE Bristol students win at regional RTS Awards

UWE Bristol students took home the top prize in three categories of the RTS West of England Student Awards held at Watershed in Bristol on Tuesday 28 February 2023.
In the Animation category, all five shortlisted nominees were from UWE Bristol, with the prize going to ‘Offerlamm’ by Tova Persson from the BA Filmmaking course.
Chloe Ireland, Will Hobley, Simon Latham, Indigo Thompson and Iona Borland won the Drama category with ‘Beached’.
‘Robbie Wrecked the Band’, work by students Chloe Ireland, Patrick Whinder-Montague, Sam Schöttner and Indigo Knox Thompson, took the top spot in Entertainment and Comedy Drama.
In addition, UWE Bristol School of Arts students won a further 10 Craft Awards, as well as receiving 12 nominations in total across the four main award categories.
UWE Bristol’s Dean and Head of School of Arts Dr Jacqueline Butler commented: “Huge congratulations to our winners and to all our nominees. It’s incredible to see our students’ stellar presence on the nominations list and for their talents and skills to be showcased and recognised by the industry. We’re all so proud of our amazing students and the fantastic work they produce – well done.”
