Find programmes
Get to your programme course, know what’s in it and understand how it’s different to your module courses.
Most full programmes will have a programme course. Usually all students from every year group are attached to the programme.
A programme course includes things like:
- programme overview
- name of programme leader
- names of student representatives
- information relevant to all students, like programme updates.
Module courses
Each programme consists of multiple learning modules. Each module course contains learning materials and assessment submission folders, names of your module instructors and fellow students attached to that module.
Find your programme
- Log in to Blackboard (single sign-on).
- Go to modules in base navigation – the black menu on the left side on desktop, three-line menu on mobile.
- Enter your programme’s name into search.
- Star your programme to save it to your favourites.
My Programme page
Programme landing page
Programme leaders use the My Programme page to highlight key contacts and topics that they want you to see.
The Programme Blackboard course will still be the repository for teaching and learning content for the programme but the programme Leader may choose to surface some of these elements on the My Programme page.
Any programme which is using a corresponding programme Blackboard course, will have a My Programme page for the staff and students attached to it.
If you are not attached to a programme which has a corresponding Blackboard course, you will still have the My Programme page but without the Programme specific books.
Sections explained
You can click on a section to reveal the content.

Programme section
This section is broken down into various books:
- Programme Info – a high level overview of the programme
- Contacts – details of contacts that the Programme Leader has chosen to display
- Student Reps – details of the Students Reps who support the Programme
- Careers – useful information and details of the support available
- Student Support – key student support contact links
Your programme leader may also add additional books with information of their choice.
If you wish to change the layout of the books from vertical to horizontal, click on the orange burger menu and select horizontal books.
My Modules section
This is the list of current and previous modules that you are attached to.
My Announcements section
The section will display any announcements from the most recent 10 courses you have accessed. Announcements will still be displayed within each individual Blackboard course.
My Modules
The student view of My Modules is split into two tabs: current Modules and previous Modules. Both tabs have a search facility, the ability to favourite specific courses for easy access and the ability to hide certain courses from your personal view.
Current modules
Current modules are the current year modules that you have an enabled enrolment to. Against each module will be an icon to show the availability. Where a module has not been made available, you will not be able to access it - please contact the Module Leader to find out when it will be made available.

Previous modules
Previous modules are modules that you have completed throughout your programme of study, or courses that you no longer have an enrolment to (your enrolment is disabled).
Please be aware that course instructors only have access to a course for 180 days after the course ends. Historic courses will not generally be viewed or maintained by the instructors.

Module access and referred students
Resit runs of modules do not have separate Blackboard modules - the first run Blackboard module is be used for the resitting students.
During the resit period (from the first run field board date through to the resit run field board date), please be aware of the following:
If you are a referred student your access to the first run module will continue.
