Learn where you can view messages in Blackboard and how they are used at UWE Bristol.

Viewing Blackboard messages

You can view your messages from lecturers in two places in Blackboard. 

All your modules

  • Go to messages in the base navigation menu (left side on desktop, three-line menu in mobile).

Individual modules

  • Go to the modules in base navigation module.
  • Search or find your module.
  • Go to the messages tab.

Communicating with your lecturers

Ask your module leaders

We recommend checking with your module leader how they will be communicating key information since there are several communication methods at UWE Bristol, including Outlook emails email and Teams messages.

Responding to Blackboard messages from your lecturers

At this time, the permissions to respond to a message in Blackboard will vary by programme. Have a conversation with your module leader to talk about how Blackboard messaging works on your module.

Checking your emails

Your lecturers could also use Outlook to email you, so remember to check your inbox regularly.
