Conversations
What Blackboard conversations are, where to access them and how they differ from discussions.
Conversations are places for you to:
- ask questions
- help other students if you know the answer to their question.
Your module leader can choose to have class conversations enabled in some areas of Blackboard. This may be around topics or materials that generate a lot of questions.
Finding conversations
Go to the speech bubble icon at the top right of the page. A purple dot next to it shows there is a new question or reply.
Difference between conversations and discussions
Conversations are different to Blackboard discussions, which may be graded. Conversations are not assessments – they are more likely to be shorter questions about content and will not have a question set by the tutor. They don’t appear on a module’s discussions page.
