When to use database detail cards

Database detail cards are used on the AtoZ anchor link page template. They cannot be added to any other type of page template.

You can use the database detail cards to help users browse and filter large databases. For example, the Library A-Z database presents 100's of resources in an A-Z format with a database detail card for each resource.

If you are working with considerably less content or the user would benefit more from a defined set of categories rather than A-Z, you may want to consider service detail cards instead.

How to use database detail cards

Database detail cards are created separately in Sitecore and added to the AtoZ anchor link page via a picker.

Database detail cards must have a link associated with them (internal or external page, anchor or email). If you do not have a call-to-action for every card, you will need to consider another format for this content.

Recommended word count

You can populate up to three bullet points on a database detail card. You need to have at least one bullet point of text for each card. The bullet points should be short and concise to fit the limited space.

Notes on component usage

• Make sure that you add link text to the database detail card link – this field automatically generates a heading for the card.
