When to use a large quote
The large quote component is used to feature quotes from students, academics and other individuals. There is space for a portrait image of the person quoted, although this is not mandatory, and can be used without.
You will need to add details about the quotee included their name and position, for example "Steve West, Vice-Chancellor, UWE Bristol". If it is a quote from a student, we recommend displaying their first name and the course they're studying.
Key features and behaviour
- You can choose to display the image on the left or right of the quote. This can be changed in the rendering options in Experience Editor.
- The large quote component takes up a lot of space on the page and should only be used to display short, concise quotes. If needed, you can use the side window to display a full testimonial or case study.
- It should also be used sparingly and should not appear more than twice on one page to minimise scroll depth. If you have multiple quotes that you would like to feature on a page, you can use the multi-quote component instead.

30-50 words |
If your quote exceeds the word count, you can use the side window feature to display additional text.
Side window
You can use the side window to display long-form copy that is not suitable for the large quote component, such as a student testimonial. This feature opens up a modal on the right-hand side of the screen that overlays on the page.
There is a further option to add a CTA button at the bottom of the side window if needed.
