UWE Bristol business award looks to tackle systemic challenges facing entrepreneurs

A new business programme delivered by UWE Bristol looks to address systemic challenges faced by entrepreneurs across the West of England.
The Breaking Barriers Enterprise Award is a programme of support and development open to business founders who identify as women or non-binary, and/or are from Global Majority backgrounds.
10 early-stage businesses will be offered a package of support – including a business grant of up to £6,000 and business mentorship and incubation support – enabling founders to dedicate time and resource to developing their businesses.
The programme will run from April to July 2024 at UWE Bristol’s Enterprise Zone, based on the Frenchay Campus.
Tracey John, Director of Research, Business and Innovation at UWE Bristol said:
“‘We are delighted to be launching the Breaking Barriers Enterprise Award here at UWE Bristol as part of Regional Innovation funded activity.
“Addressing these challenges is vital to create an environment where all entrepreneurs can thrive, promoting inclusive innovation and economic impact for the West of England region.”
