Accredited by the Royal Town Planning Institute, the course will enhance your employability, with the chance to work on live briefs across the city, with active practitioners. BA(Hons) Property Development and Planning will prepare you to enter an interesting and fast-moving industry dealing with economic, financial, legal and design issues, where you will seek and implement innovative, sustainable property development solutions to urban regeneration problems.

We’ll explore legal systems and economic forces, and their impact on creating sustainable communities, alongside areas such as property valuation, development finance, and achieving quality design. You’ll build valuable skills in computer-assisted design (CAD), drawing, modelling and mapping, collaborate with students in related disciplines, and assess urban design on day and residential field trips. Key employer partners are involved throughout, giving you industry knowledge, summer schemes, placements and recruitment advice to improve your employability.

BA(Hons) Architecture and Planning is unique because it’s accredited by the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA), the Architects Registration Board (ARB) and the Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI).

You’ll work on conceptual and practical projects, learn computer-assisted design, drawing, modelling and mapping, and explore both architecture and urban design on field trips. A five-week agency project and year-long architectural design project will further hone your planning and design skills. There’s also the opportunity to study abroad for a year.
