Career support throughout your degree

From the moment our students start, they get careers information and advice - from employers, our careers team, and their tutors. So by the time they graduate, they will be equipped with the experience, contacts and skills to succeed in their chosen careers.

Work experience and volunteering

Work experience is vital, and students are prepared for work by placements throughout their course. This helps them decide where they want to work. And, if they already know, our careers service helps find placements that fit the brief.

Our volunteering team also helps students improve their skills and experience through opportunities such as:

Working with disadvantaged children
Computer skills classes for over 60s
Art classes for adults with learning disabilities
Drama classes for children.

Specialist careers support

Sector-specific careers advice is available for each department and one-to-ones are available with our dedicated team. There are weekly drop-ins on education careers. Students can attend workshops on LinkedIn, CV writing, interview techniques etc.

We also provide a Futures Fair where students from the department have the unique opportunity to meet suitable Education employers and recruiters, but also from other sectors.

And it doesn't end when they graduate; all UWE Bristol alumni can access our careers services up until three years after graduation.
