Managing your Money week
11 – 17 March, 2D11 Frenchay Campus.
UWESU and the Student Services Department are running a week-long event aimed at helping you make the most of your money. We realise that money is tight for most students, especially with the reduction in the availability of part-time work, so we are here to help you out.
Managing your money week will have representatives from the Students’ Union Advice Centre, Advice and Welfare Services, Careers and UWE Volunteering. You will find information on checking your credit rating, creating a working budget, reclaiming bank charges and overpaid tax. Check out that you are receiving all the money you are entitled to by having a financial healthcheck with a SAWS adviser. You can also get help with looking for part time work and learn about volunteering opportunities and other sources of work experience.
If you are graduating this year, there will be information on claiming means-tested benefits, student overdrafts vs. graduate loans, council tax liability and postgraduate funding.
Come and visit us at Frenchay campus, 2D11 between 11 - 17 March.
If you cannot make the trip to Frenchay, we will be running similar events at Glenside Campus and Bower Ashton in May.
