With over 60% of its research rated 'world-leading' and 'internationally excellent' in the 2008 Research Assessment Exercise, the School of Creative Arts at UWE has a proven reputation in research excellence. Research, Knowledge Exchange and Professional Practice is central to our work in Creative Arts, and a strategic priority in UWE.

The Digital Cultures Research Centre

Through our research groups we promote interdisciplinary research in New Media, Game Theory,Visual Culture, Documentary film, Cultural History, Feminist Theory, Film Studies and Philosophy.

We have extensive facilities and dedicated resources to promote applied research in Drawing, Media Practice, Rapid Prototyping, Enamel, Colour Science, on-line Craft Archives, and Digital Photography.

Our staff have long-standing links with national and regional industries; amongst them Hewlett Packard, Aardman Animations, BBC, Tate Modern, HP Invent, the V&A, ACE.

We have dedicated offices to support bidding, manage our large-scale projects, stage symposia, and share best practice.
