Exhibition and Project Launch

Professional animators from Aardman have made new flip books working with the Centre for Fine Print Research at UWE. The books demonstrate a range of innovative techniques including: hand drawn, painted, 3D modeling, stop motion, photography and CGI working to a template of 30 frames, the animators then worked with researchers from the Centre for Fine Print Research at UWE to explore new technologies such as laser cutting and UV curing digital presses . Each new work has been printed as both an A1 print and a book.

Exhibition of Schools Work
Exhibition dates 4 July 2011 – 22 July 2011

All schools taking part in the CPD course have the opportunity be included in an exhibition which would tour to venues in South Gloucestershire, Bristol, BANES and North Somerset. The exhibition will include the project outcomes from schools, employer-partners and professional artists and designers in addition to UWE FCA students and staff.
The exhibition offers students the opportunity to see their work as part of a professional exhibition (and to be included in designing & developing this, if appropriate) alongside the promotional process for the exhibition and digital legacy of the project, which can be built on in future years as a record of work between the partners involved.
All schools taking part will receive an edition of the final exhibition to display back in the school and use as a resource for future teaching.
The exhibition will be promoted extensively through UWE FCA across the region and nationally, and there is the potential for the exhibition itself to tour to individual school premises through the course of the next year (subject to funding).
