Badges of Meaning
24th November - 4th December 2008 in the Foyer Gallery

School of Creative Arts, Bower Ashton Campus, Bristol

This is the sixth year of the Badges project which involves the members of the etc applied arts group and invited makers. Each have made a badge on the theme of 'meaning'. (Previous themes have included the found opbject and recycling).

The photographs on these web pages are not always to scale but each badge fits within a 4cm square space.

Each maker's badge has been produced in an edition of 50.

Traditionally a badge is 'worn to identify a person or indicate support for a cause'. This exhibition aims to showcase the distinctive and diverse talents of makers working in the applied arts and to support the cause of applied arts research. All proceeds from the sale of badges will be used to support further etc projects.

The badges are available for sale at £15 each or a set of all 21 at £300. Each badge is made by hand and as a result every one is different and therefore the purchased badge may differ from the image on this web-site. To download an order form as a PDF file click here.
