Alison Davis
Research Administrator (CREATE)

Alison is the research administrator for pan-European project CREATE (Colour Research for Advanced Technology Employment), Funded by: CREATE (Marie Curie SCF)
a four-year programme of conferences and training events for researchers in the early stages of their research careers.
UWE are the lead University in a team of colour experts from eight Universities in Europe. Alison works alongside CREATE Director Carinna Parraman here at the CFPR.
The co-universities are University of Milan, Italy, Gjovik University College, Norway, University of Leeds, UK, University of Ulster in Belfast, Norhtern Ireland, University of Reims Champagne-Ardenne, France, University of Pannonia, Hungary, and University of Barcelona, Spain. Successful applicants receive full funding to attend the courses, and delegates so far have included a balance of artists, scientists, engineers, and designers from backgrounds including the fine arts, art history, architecture, image science, visual perception, web design, textile design, computer science, photography, digital print, and biomedicine.
The long-term objective of the project is to facilitate dialogue between sectors, to initiate new collaborative research projects between participants, and to develop a cross disciplinary approach to improving colour and print.
Alison’s projects and interests since joining the CFPR in February 2007 include: Issuing press releases and opening channels of communication between industry and academia, and building and maintaining the CFPR website. Alison is also sustainability rep for the CFPR and faculty.
Alison has a BA (Hons) in English with Media Studies from Falmouth College of Arts, and some (undisclosed) writing projects up her sleeve.
