Printing Beyond the Flat Surface
Verity Lewis was appointed as Business Manager for our work on Printing Beyond the Flat Surface in November 2016. Verity’s role primarily involves the management, running and marketing of CFPR Editions. This encompasses all aspects of the research undertaken at the research centre including 3D print, printmaking, colour and artists’ books and working collaboratively with artists and galleries to develop and produce new print editions and multiples utilising the centre’s extensive research expertise and technologies.
Verity has worked on a number of other major research projects including the project management of the Bristol and Bath by Design project, a comprehensive two year project which mapped and measured the value and impact of design in the city region which was funded by the AHRC and the Design Council. The project brought together UWE Bristol, Bath Spa University and Bristol University along with regional partners West of England Design Forum, Bristol Media, Creative Bath, the West of England Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP) and the REACT Knowledge Exchange Hub.
Verity holds a first class degree in graphic design awarded in 2014 and has subsequently worked as a freelance graphic designer. Her clients include the Royal West of England Academy, the National Trust, RMIT University Australia, the BBC and the Bristol Cultural Development Partnership. Prior to completing her degree, she was awarded membership into the International Society of Typographic Designers.
Verity previously worked in London for a small photographic company. Clients included Beggars Banquet, EMI, Warner, V2, Penguin, HHCL, RKCR-Y&R, Saatchi and Saatchi, Stylorouge and 4AD. She has worked on campaigns for ITV, The Streets, Toblerone, Herbal Essences and Cobra Beer.
