The CFPR is a centre for excellence in vitreous enamel research and professional practice; this is the only enamel research facility in the UK. This enterprise has a reputation not only for research, but also for high quality collaborations with visiting artists, makers, designers and the vitreous enamel industry. We are particular interested in working with established artists new to the process of enamelling on both small and large-scale enamel projects.
The studio has a large flatbed kiln with the capacity to fire panels up to 1750 cm x 1400cm. The studio and kiln are available for hire by artists who may wish to develop their own work or carry out a public commission - we are able to offer technical advice and support.
