Davina Kirkpatrick 'Signing the River'
Davina Kirkpatrick has had a diverse artistic career. Beginning her training at The Bristol Old Vic Theatre School in costume and design, after working both in rep and touring companies she returned to education and trained in Architectural Glass at Swansea Institute of Higher Ed.
She now works in a variety of contexts: community biased public art projects, residencies in schools, commissions and exhibitions. Thematic concerns are linked to the nature of materials and include an obsession with transparency/translucency/opacity, layered images, memories and the emotional resonance created from an imprint of an object.
She has cast pavements, beaches and found objects for public art projects and commissions. Davina is about to complete an MA in Multi-disciplinary Print at UWE, Bristol.
