The Winter 2011 edition of Printmaking Today includes an article by Paul Laidler entitled Human Automation. The article was developed from a practice based section of Paul's PhD that explores the boundaries of print related methods as a means to question the mutability of print practice in the digital age.
"Defining Print: Paul Laidler's PhD focuses on the production process rather than the artefact itself. In his exploration of a means that is not quite print, he questions the boundaries of printmaking in the digital age." (Printmaking Today, Winter 2011 Issue).
