This beginners course is an ideal opportunity for designers to familiarise themselves with reasonably priced computer aided design (CAD) software packages such as Rhino that will cover the creation of 2D lines and curves to produce 3D surfaces and solid models for client presentation, digital model making and/or manufacture. You will concentrate on common and industry specific modelling techniques to generate a true 3D representation of your design. You will receive practical hands-on experience of 3D CAD and demonstrations of digital model making and 3D scanning using the CFPR’s ZCorp scanner, Geo Magic reverse engineering and methods for exporting files to programmes.
The course will provide demonstrations of:
- Scanning methods
- Using the software
- Object preparation.
- Joining seams to make an object
- Translation of scans into software such as CAD (Computer Aided Design)
The course is PC based and is suitable for those without previous experience of working in 3D or with CAD although a degree of computer literacy is essential. Full technical support will be given throughout the duration of the course.
