Eligibility

A number of the activities under the heat@uwe programme are open to all those with an interest in health, environment and technology research, although you must be a member of the heat network. However, some activities are dependant on the following eligibility criteria being met:

  • Interdisciplinary The research must involve at least two disciplines from health, environment and technology which would normally be demonstrated by the involvement a member of staff from each discipline. Priority will be given to those applications which aim to build interdisciplinary capability at UWE as opposed to simply multidisciplinary.
  • Inclusive heat@uwe is a joint programme between ISHE and BIT. Applications are welcome from all staff and research students in UWE but should demonstrate involvement from these institutes. UWE staff and research students are eligible to apply and applications are particularly encouraged from early career researchers. However, consideration should be given to the expectation that a full proposal will be submitted (e.g. to a Research Council).
  • Sustainability The anticipated outcome of several of the heat@uwe activities is a full research proposal. Therefore, some consideration of the potential sources of further funding should be demonstrated.
  • Support All applicants should ensure that they have the full support of their Heads of Department or Research Centre Director before applying.

More detailed eligibility guidance is contained in the application form (Please contact Louise King).
