Below is one of the projects currently being undertaken by our researchers. We will continue to add more details about other live projects.

Leadership, language and visual representation

This research project involves researchers from UWE Bristol, Oxford Brookes, and London Metropolitan University. The study, funded by the British Academy of Management and the Society for the Advancement of Management Studies, is looking to understand how inclusion is understood and practised in organisations across differing languages. Researchers are working with a large, multinational organisation across a number of countries in order to explore employees’ everyday lived experiences and views of inclusion.

As part of this investigation, the research team is using a visual methodology – participant-led photography –  that asks those we are working with to visually capture their experiences of inclusion or exclusion, as a basis for discussion.

The aim is to shed light on and strengthen cultural voices in inclusive leadership research and practice in order to challenge the dominance of English labels and concepts across the globe.
