Review
Review your situation at regular intervals. Remember that your aim is
to complete your task successfully whilst developing individual and group-working
skills. For the task, team, and individual, therefore, identify:
- what's going well
- where improvement is needed
- what to do to improve things.
Aim to identify two or three priorities for action with deadlines, and
set a date to review progress together.
The following questions might guide your discussions:
- Does everyone:
- know what their role is and what others expect of them?
- fully understand the task that has been allocated, and the end
product required?
- know how the project will be assessed, and what assessment criteria
should be met?
- feel clear about the key stages of the task?
- know who's completing which part of the task and by when?
- manage time effectively, meeting deadlines and sustaining momentum?
- participate fully?
- share responsibility?
- communicate effectively?
- contribute material of a satisfactory quality?
- Does the group:
- feel inclusive and cohesive?
- meet regularly face to face?
- develop and maintain a sense of team spirit?
- follow ground rules?
- ensure that everyone is involved, respected and able to contribute?
- share tasks fairly?
- maintain focus and morale?
- pay attention to individual needs?
- troubleshoot effectively?
- review progress sufficiently?
- Is the work:
- on course for completion by the final deadline?
- the best we could possible do?
- of a quality that will meet the assessment criteria?
- truly a group effort?
