Using The 24-Hour Telephone Renewals Service

All library users may use the 24 hour automated renewals system:

0117 32 82092.

Before you call, make sure you have to hand:

  • Your UWE ID number
  • Your library PIN
  • The barcode numbers of the items you wish to renew

You can also use the service to check which items you have on loan and the availability of any holds.

When using the system, please note:

  • Barcodes should be entered carefully
  • If an item barcode ends in X, please omit the X
  • If your user ID starts with a B, then please opt to speak to a member of library staff
  • At any point during your call you can speak to a member of library staff by pressing 0
  • Return to a previous menu by pressing *
  • You can receive help by pressing # (hash).
  • If you make a mistake at any time press *

If the system asks you to wait for more than 1 minute then please call back later.

Items that cannot be renewed include:

  • Short loan items
  • Inter-Library-Loans
  • Items with holds
  • Also, if over £5 has been accrued in charges, or is still accruing in fines
