Requesting new material for Library stock
Subject Librarians manage the Library budgets for their faculties. The procedure by which stock is selected for the Library varies according to faculty, and your Subject Librarian can provide further information.
Books.
Requests for book purchase should be forwarded to your Subject Librarian. Please provide as much detail as possible, and indicate how many copies are required, and whether you would like a copy to be put in the Short Loan Collection.
You can send requests for book purchase to your Subject Librarian by the method that is most convenient to you, including:
- Submitting the online book order suggestion form.
- Filling out an order card (available from campus libraries).
- Sending a marked catalogue.
- Sending a printed list of items.
- Sending a list of items by e-mail.
Journals.
Each faculty has its own procedure for determining which journals are subscribed to. Your Subject Librarian can provide further information.
Off-air recordings.
Television and radio programmes can be recorded and made available through the Library. The procedure for requesting recordings varies according to campus.
