  • Computing Guide (pdf)
    The Staff Computing Guide is published each year and is handed it out during new members of staff induction. However, an electronic copy can be obtained here.
  • Equipment/Works requests

  • IT training
    IT training is provided by the Human Resources department who work closely with IT Services to provide the more appropriate training.
  • Microsoft Office 2007
    Microsoft Office was released to all members of staff in the Summer of 2009.
  • NetPlus
    Members of staff are able to use the wireless network which is available in many locations through the University and its different campuses. However, the H and S drives will not be available unless you log into the XA (Xternal Access) system.
  • Outlook e-mail
    Microsoft Outlook is the e-mail used by UWE staff
  • Outlook Web Access
    UWE staff can access their UWE Outlook email account from home

    Passwords are explained on this web page. The link gives you access to the UWE Password Manager which is essential to manage, change and reset your password.
  • Printing and Stationery
    Printing and Stationery services are intrinsically linked with IT Services.
  • ServiceIT
    UWE staff can log and view their Service Desk calls and Change Management requests. They may also find answers to IT questions in the Knowledge Centre.
  • SharePoint
    Microsoft SharePoint is available to staff to enable collaborative work across the university.
