What equipment is required to connect to Net Plus?

In order to connect to Net Plus you will need:

A Laptop computer capable of running Apple or Windows operating system. We specialise in Windows, so if you run something different, the support we can provide will be more limited.

Operating system (Windows)
Net Plus supports Windows XP, Vista and 7. You must ensure that you have a copy of the installation CD (or the pre-installed copy of the installation on your hard disk).

A network card

To connect via Wireless:
To connect to NetPlus wirelessly, you will need a laptop or other device with wireless capability which are compatible with IEEE 802.11a/b/g/n standard wifi. Most laptops have inbuilt wireless. However, if yours doesn’t or is faulty, you could purchase a USB wireless adapter.

To connect via a network cable:
Most modern laptops are equipped with on board network cards which, providing the drivers are installed correctly will enable you to connect to Net Plus. If your laptop does not have a network card you will need to purchase either a PCMCIA network adapter or a USB network adapter. Make sure your laptop has the correct slot available before purchasing either of these cards.

Please note that a network adaptor is not a modem (or modem card) – a modem is of no use with Net Plus.

A network cable
Network cables will be supplied at all of the wired access points for Net Plus.

Anti-virus software
It is paramount that you install anti-virus software onto your computer before connecting to the Net Plus service.
