Configuring Internet Options

Before you can access any secure external web pages that you will need to configure Windows to use the UWE proxy server.

Click the Windows Start Button in the bottom left of the screen and in the search field type inetcpl.cpl and press ENTER.

In the Internet Properties Window click on the 'Connections' Tab and then click on the 'LAN Settings' button

Tick the 'Automatically detect settings' check box and the 'Use automatic configuration script' box and enter http://www.uwe.ac.uk/proxy.pac in the address field.

Then Click OK

Configure the Pop-up Blocker

When you login to NetPlus a pop up window appears to allow you to log out of the service.

To configure the Windows pop up blocker to allow this follow these instructions.

Click the Privacy tab, Check the 'Turn on Pop-up Blocker' check box and click the Settings button

In the 'Address of website to allow:' field type *.uwe.ac.uk and click Add.

Then, in the same field, type 164.11.* and click Add.

Then type 172.16.* and click Add.

Your PC should now be configured to use the NetPlus service.
