How to use the ITS Web Pages

ITS Home Page

The ITS Home Page has recently been changed and is now split into audience groups. You can find the various IT Services available to you under these groups:-

    • New students – for students about to join the University or having just joined

    • All students – for existing students, postgraduates, students returning from placements

    • Support staff – for administrative and support staff

    • Academic staff – for teaching and research staff

On the left hand side,

    • System Status gives you information about the performance of the IT systems and how it affects the users.

    • The section, Interruptions, informs you of any IT maintenance periods.

    • News items lists information about any new IT related events and developments

At the bottom of the page. other links include:-

    • IT Policies lists all the IT policies in existence at UWE

    • IT Support gives access to the online help form

    • ITS Teams explains the structure of the department

    • Feedback gives you the opportunity to voice your opinion about the web site

    • Glossary is an alphabetical list of IT jargon

    • A - Z is a list of support documents from IT Services

    • Phishing is an important note about phish emails

    • Virus alert takes you to the McAfee Threat Center

    • Contact us informs you on how to contact IT Services and receives help.
