KINETICS

Kinetics is the software used by the University to manage process surrounding the allocation of student accommodation.

The process ranges from Student Data Interfaces with ISIS and SITS-ADMIT, online applications, accommodation allocation, acceptance of offer (including online payments), finance interface with Agresso and ongoing Management Information.

The system went live in January 2008 for Accommodation Services, with students being able to apply for their accommodation online from May 2008 and is managed by Accommodation Services.

IT Services have been heavily involved in the tendering and implementation stages of the system and have ensured that Kinetics could link to the data sources such as ISIS and SITS-ADMIT, but also assisted with the system interface with the Finance system, Agresso.

Now that Kinetics is fully operational, IT Services are still involved operationally with database administration, system updates and networking issues to ensure that the system is working at its optimum.
