I.T. Services consist of 8 main functions: Customer Services, Technical Services, Business Systems, Strategic Planning, Printing and Stationery Services, Academic Technologies Group, Projects and Senior Management
A senior manager who reports to the Head of IT Services leads each function:
Strategic Planning
This group consists of 2 teams:
The teams deal with projects such as Windows 2000 involving external companies in association with the academic world. They also take care of all Windows servers, including the Terminal server farms, Microsoft Exchange servers to provide email services to staff through Outlook and Blackboard, as well as business systems such as Aggresso accounts and SAP.
Customer Services
This group includes 5 teams:
Team 1 is responsible for Telecommunications Services and Telephone Operations.
The team also looks after the Management of Mobile technology
Team 2 is responsible for the IT Support Centre for staff and studentsTeam 3 is responsible for:
- Management of the Student Residencies Network
- Student Desktop support and Computer labs
- Faculty of Law Technical Services
- Central Audio Visual Services
Team 5 is Customer Services Support
The Customer Services group is the main interface with the University staff and student.
Business Systems
This group involves 5 teams:
- Business Systems
- Business Systems Liaison
- Business Intelligence
- Portal and ISIS Technical
- Database Systems Administrator
- Business Analyst
Technical Services
This Group consists of 3 teams:
The group is responsible for the maintenance of servers and networks across the University. The group can be contacted about any IT security related issues.
Printing & Stationery Services
This group is responsible for the supply of all printing and stationery, (including computer consumables) and the management of the fleet of Canon MFDs. The unit also produces a wide range of print for other organisations and individuals, including private work.

Academic Technologies Group (ATG)
This group was formed as a result of the merger of the MICE (Multimedia and Information Technologies Centre for Education) and NLSF (Networked Learning Support Framework) teams with IT Services.
The Academic Technologies Group in IT Services supports and promotes appropriate development of effective e-learning and ongoing development of the university web presence.
Projects
This team called Projects is composed of Project Managers and Business Analysts.
