Pricing in proportion

Effective from 21st Aug 2006

You should be aware by now that the Royal Mail have introduced a new method of charging, which is called Pricing in Proportion (PIP)

To ensure a smooth transition from the old charging system to the new, Facilities have issued your Department or Faculty with a bright RED Royal Mail cardboard PIP template for sizing letters and parcels. In addition you will have also received a simple briefing on how to use the template.

Help!

If you need to send up to 12 A4 size sheets of literature in the same envelope, we can obtain a cost saving of 12p per letter, by you folding the sheets of A4 in half and putting them in an A5 envelope. Its size and weight will then fit through the small envelope slot in your Red letter size guide.

Please see below a brief Facilities guide to PIP with a reminder on the correct size envelopes to use and in doing so helping to keep our postal charges down.
