Conferences and exhibition facilities
Lecture theatres, seminar and teaching rooms available for your event
The University has a large range of lecture theatres, teaching and seminar rooms that are available for conferences, corporate meetings, seminars, presentations and training days. We also now have the new UWE Exhibition and Conference Centre which is available for larger exhibitions and conferences.
All of our conference rooms provide overhead projectors, screens and white boards with many of the rooms offering data projectors. Additional audio-visual facilities are available for a small extra charge. Flip charts and markers are available on request. Please do not hesitate to ask about our video conferencing facilities.
Types of room
Our rooms range in capacity from 10 to 310 to include:
- Teaching/seminar rooms to seat 10-70 delegates
- Lecture theatres seating 80-310 delegates
- Main plenary room for up to 310 delegates
- Dual projection can be provided to facilitate 480 delegates between two lecture theatres
We offer a range of different room styles and the rooms will be set up in advance to your requested layout.
Our teaching rooms can also be used as exhibition areas, with furniture removed from the room as required. The Street café and social space on Frenchay Campus is an ideal venue for hosting exhibitions.
Availability
UWE teaching rooms and conference/exhibition facilities are available during Easter, Summer and Christmas vacations and all year round at weekends and evenings. Vacation periods fluctuate from year to year, so please contact us for exact dates per academic year.
Security
The UWE Campus Support Officers (CSOs) can be hired for the duration of your conference to assist the organisers regarding set up arrangements and the co-ordination of the event on the day. They also provide first aid cover and general security duties. All our CSOs are trained fire marshalls. Their experience and expertise in this role is something that we would recommend to help guarantee the smooth running of your event. This service is available upon request and there is a small charge for it.
IT/AV technical support
A huge variety of AV equipment is available such as data projectors, laptops, sound reinforcement, video conferencing and facilities for hearing impaired users. A detailed list of AV equipment is available on request. If an IT/AV technician is required, an additional charge will be made for this service. We recommend, however, that a technician is booked where IT/AV equipment is required.
