Value added
A third of our single and joint honours History students graduating in 2002 achieved a better degree class that would be expected, based on their A Level results.
Choice
We offer a range of modules from which you can construct a degree package that suits your own needs.
As a single honours student you can take modules that will enable you to concentrate on a period, a geographical area or a type of history. However, you need not specialise in this way at all. You can take modules from any and every period and even take modules outside the subject area of History.
As a joint honours student , you can combine history with an enormous range of other subjects, including Politics, International Relations, English, Law, Psychology, Film Studies, Media and Cultural Studies Sociology and Geography.
Flexibility
If you enrol as a single honours student, you may, if you wish, transfer to a joint honours degree at the end of your Level 1 (first year) work. Similarly, if you enrol as a joint honours student, you may transfer to single honours History once you've successfully completed your Level 1 work. The choice is yours. You choose the type of degree you want.
