UWE’s MA in Regional Histories provides students with an introduction to the significance of regional and local communities in history, the impact of borders and boundaries and the dynamic relationship between national and local factors in the making of historical change.

These critical approaches to the subject are complemented by a module in research techniques in which students learn to locate and evaluate primary sources for local and regional history, and by modules offering carefully selected case studies from the South West of England. These variable modules provide students with the essential tools they need to research and prepare a dissertation of their own in regional history.
