Research Support - Costing and Pricing
Introduction
- As one of its main functions FBS is responsible for providing support and
financial appraisal with regard to research proposals. The team charged with
that task consists of 3 members of staff:-

(It should be noted that financial support and appraisal for teaching and learning proposals is not provided by Finance Business Systems).
- FBS is also responsible for developing and consolidating TRAC to cover the
full economic cost (fEC) at project level (TRAC). This function is being

The major functions associated with the Support and financial appraisal of research proposals are:-
- to provide academic/researchers with
UWE financial guidelines advice
- to provide academic/researchers with
sponsors funding guidelines advice
- to provide academic/research with appropriate
costing advice that conforms
to sponsors funding guidelines
- to provide academic/researchers with appropriate
pricing advice
- to review financial offers made by sponsors to ensure that the level of
funding offered is acceptable
- to receive and review PA proposals in relation to their financial merits
prior to the approval by the relevant designated authority under the Financial
Regulations.
- to provide training for faculties and services on fEC and TRAC
