Projects: Flexible Learning Area
The ELDU, together with Estates, have been planning and establishing a flexible learning area in the One Zone restaurant at Frenchay (by the rear bar at the back of the main refectory area).
It is now ready, and...
- includes sofas and bucket seats, as well as tables and chairs on castors, to allow for both informal and more formal uses.
- takes around 20 people (depending upon the configuration in which it is used).
- houses a projector (with drop down screen) and access points allowing tutors to connect laptops directly to the projector.
- contains sockets for charging laptops.
- is supplied with wireless from a nearby hub.
Please note that for security and space reasons there are no fixed computers in this area.
The area can be booked by both students and staff between the hours of 8:30 - 11:30 and 14:30 - 17:00.
The instructions for booking are on signs in the One Zone and PDF booking instructions can also be downloaded..
If you have any queries please email elearning@uwe.ac.uk
Lastly we would like to say a huge thank you to our colleagues in Estates, particularly Chris Abbott and Marie Cooke, who have been enthusiastic and helpful throughout. In fact, it was their idea in the first place! Thanks guys.
