In addition to its direct
practical work in supporting Local Air Quality
Management activities and capacity building in
the UK and further afield, the Air Quality Management
Resource Centre has a strong background in air
quality research at the nexus of science and
policy. The AQMRC's experience covers the
development of the LAQM process in great
detail over a ten year period in the UK, looking
at the policy, science and knowledge exchange
issues involved. Our experience also allows
this to be set within the context of 'ideal'
policy scenarios and comparative scenarios from
Europe and further afield. AQMRC has a wide
range of regular collaborators world-wide
including research establishments, local
authorities (and their representative bodies
such as
Eurocities), and the private sector.
Within UWE we also have close ties with the
Centre for Transport and Society, the
Faculty of the Built Environment, and the
WHO Healthy Cities team.
