The Air Quality Management Resource Centre welcomes approaches from
the media seeking advice, guidance or comment on
topical and challenging air quality issues.
The AQMRC team are experienced in handling such
enquiries and have lengthy experience in providing
advice and comment to the national and international
press, film and radio media.

Jim Longhurst was
interviewed by the BBC Radio World Service in
connection with the plan by the Beijing city
authorities to take 1 million cars off the roads of
Beijing for a two week period in the summer of
2007. If the action results in an improvement in
air quality during this period it is likely that the
city authorities will repeat this action during the
2008 Olympic Games.

Jim Longhurst was interviewed by BBC News in connection with
changing particle concentrations on pubs before and after the
smoking ban came into place. The interview was shown on
the national 6 o'clock news bulletin on 13 July 2007 and on the
BBC News online service.
