 NEW...Air
Quality and Carbon Management Training
Invest in your future and update your skills and knowledge in Air
Quality and Carbon Management at UWE!
With
the recent multitude of changes to the LAQM process
and the increasing predominance of climate change on
the political agenda, now is the time for employers
and staff to ensure that they are in command of all
the facts.
The University of the West of England’s Air Quality
Management Resource Centre (AQMRC) have developed a
range of training and development opportunities to
build skills and understanding in the fields of air
quality and carbon management. Whether you are a
recent graduate or needing to update your skills in
an existing role, this training will give you the
opportunity to focus your development in a way that
is specific to your needs and requirements.
A series of seven different one-day
courses are on offer here at UWE, Bristol, focusing on specific aspects of Air
Quality and Carbon Management. Each day's
course comprises presentations of relevant module areas
(click on the course titles to download module
descriptors). Module slides and links
to external reading will then be made available
online for up to three months. These courses
are designed to provide an overview of Air Quality
and Carbon Management in the UK, and are aimed
primarily at professionals in these, and related,
fields in local government and environmental
consultancies. The courses are delivered in small,
intimate groups which allows us to offer a
personalised service and enables the trainees to
participate and share experiences and issues in
their own areas.
These courses are accredited by the
Institute of Air Quality Management and the
Institution of Environmental Science. Each
one-day course is equivalent to five hours
Continuing Professional Development (CPD) and
certificates will be awarded on completion. An
additional 12 CPD hours (three for each module) may
be gained for accessing the online materials and
undertaking further reading, as verified by a line
manager.
Course fees are £285 per attendee
(including lunch and refreshments). Full
details and a programme of the day are available on
registration. To register your interest for
any of the courses below, please email

Support for AQMRC training:
"As work in the environmental protection field
grows, the need for well trained workforce grows
with it. UWE's new course for air quality and carbon
management professionals provides a flexible
approach that meets both the needs of those starting
out in the field, and also the more experienced
seeking to expand their knowledge and skills. A
better trained workforce will enhance the quality
and output of the sector, and ultimately lead to a
higher quality environment for us all to enjoy.”
Philip Mulligan, Chief Executive, Environmental
Protection UK
“This course fills a definite gap in the market
for air quality and carbon management training. The
flexibility in delivery of the courses means that
staff are able to work to their own schedules
without even leaving the office, which is perfect
for environmental consultancies. The focus of the
courses is unique.” Nicholas Davey, Director,
entran Ltd
"The new course on air quality and carbon
management will help Bristol City Council build
capacity to meet these two key environmental
challenges to help Bristol become a healthier and
more sustainable city in years to come." Stephen
Crawshaw, Programme Co-ordinator, Air Environment,
