Qusai AlHaj
The financial crisis did not stop ambitious UWE graduate Qusai AlHaj to pursue his dream. After setbacks in London, his determination and hard work landed him a prestigious job in his home country Jordan.
“Dont give up” Qusai kept insisting when giving advice to other job searchers ‘”After graduating, I spent several months in London with no luck, I refused to let that hold me back and tried even harder to find a job. Now I am climbing up the career ladder, quickly.”
Facing challenges head on
"It hasn’t been easy" Qusai said, when talking about pursuing his career in Jordan, “For example, when developing a business plan in Iraq, I had to collect market data myself as no reliable market data was developed due to the country’s instability” He went on to say “As you can imagine, that was a very difficult task to complete.”
Qusai went from strength to strength when he was able to successfully overcome every difficult challenge that he faced and was quickly hired as a Strategic Project Manager for a big pharmaceutical company. When talking about his career, Qusai puts much of his success down to his experience at UWE: “The MBA course gave me the confidence to expose myself to more responsibilities and the tools to apply for higher positions.”Taking control...
Not one to be content with his successes, Qusai is already working on his plans to achieve his life-long dream of opening his own innovative business in Jordan. Keen to make a start, he was quick to develop some ideas and is now looking to launch the business with some possible business partners.
“I do not want my business to have poor standards and systems like so many others I know.” Qusai insisted when discussing his plans, “I am keen to help develop the regulations of my country’s Non Governmental Organisations so that so many more businesses like mine will be able to prosper.”
