UWE Student wins BBC's Total Wipeout
Ollie Beasant, a third year BBS student, became £10,000 richer after winning the game show Total Wipeout on Saturday 29 January 2011. To win the show Ollie successfully completed a series of extreme challenges and conquered one of television's most gruelling assault courses. He applied for the programme a year ago and was one of 20 selected out of 1,000 people.
In true UWE entrepreneurial spirit, Ollie plans to set up a web-based business venture with his winnings. In a recent interview with the Swindon Advertiser he reflects on the experience saying "I never expected to win, there was some really tough competition and some of the people I was competing against were really fit, many of them have run marathons in the past, but I'd never done anything like it, it's amazing".
