Disability support and special requirements
UWE caters for students with all sorts of special requirements. Please see below for details of the options available to these groups and the further support available.
UWE offers fully-accessible adapted rooms on both the Frenchay and St Matthias campuses. These adaptations include wheelchair access, lever taps, hand rails, adjustable basin, sink and hob heights and telephone points. There is also accommodation for carers, if required.
Rooms containing a visual fire alarm and socket for a vibrating pad alarm are also available for deaf students. Additional adaptations may be made on an individual basis, subject to resources. We can also accommodate guide dogs and other assistance dogs within the Frenchay student village. Please let us know your access requirements as soon as possible.
You should also contact a Disability Advisor in the Disability service, to discuss your support need further - telephone +44 (0)117 32 82564 or e-mail DRC@uwe.ac.uk.
